Overuse of animation in presos sucks. Transition/animation should never take over half a second.
Making your graphics overly graphical sucks too. Graphics should be subtly beautiful and the graphic should never be stronger than the information in which it is trying to convey.
Terribly sucky, indeed. Animating everything may seem cute and fun when you’re in your office, but the end result is miserable for every single participant when it is overdone, drawn out, or pointless. That is definitely worth a Rule!
I like the thought about the ‘overly graphical’ preso. Too much can be overwhelming. The point is not to overwhelm, but to simple whelm. Also, the overuse of word art and clip art can both add to the suckiness.
